A ONCE IN A LIFETIME OPPORTUNITY |
Mamelodi Sundowns medlefielder Teko Modise |
Teko will play alongside the likes of former world players of the year and world cup winners Zinedin Zidane ( France) and Ronaldinho (Brazil). According to the Nigerian Football Association, the matchs objective is to draw attention to the problem of human trafficking in football. Other legends will include the likes of Didier Drogba, Samuel Eto'O, Emmanuel Adebayor, Jay jay Okocha and Nwankwo Kanu http://www.kickoff.com/. In an interview with kickoff.com, Modise said that this came as a shock to him and that it is an honour to him that he is being given such an opportunity.
Thiis invitation brings the following conclusions to mind :
- South African football is starting to be recognised globally.
- South african players are capable of playing against some of the best players in the world.
- And that Teko Modise's form has improvec so much that he is recognised ad compared to global soccer legends.
indeed it is. Teko was badly critisiced for his football skills in the last few years especially during the World Cup in 2010, so an opportunity like this is good for his image as a football player as well as that of South African football globally...well done to him, hope he represents us well in Nigeria.
ReplyDeleteYour right N. he has recieved uneasy comments in the past few regarding his perfomance, this is a good way to put a stop to all those negative comments about his perfomance.
DeleteSouth African football is being recognized and that is great. Let's hope that some other players will also get an opportunity like Modise and let's hope that he will represent South Africa very well.
ReplyDeleteHis call up to participate really is a a good recognition for South African football and a great opportunity for Teko's career.
DeleteAm just thetre is someone who will represnt Mzansi this could be another window for Tiko to be regonised world wide.
ReplyDeleteI sure hope it does open windows for other South African players and maybe get Teko the recognition I think he deserves.
DeleteThe problem with Teko Modise is that he can be so unprofesional at times and he lets his ego get the better of him.
ReplyDeleteSizzle I think Teko has learned his lesson and the mere fact that he was picked to play amongst the best shows that he is now a professional player and is capable of handling such responsibilities.
DeleteIt was about time to see him recognised as one of the best player to play with the legends of football. Now he is the best since joining Sundowns and he's showing his potential and leadership for the Brazilians.
ReplyDeleteVongani lets hope that he will not dissapoint, seeing that this is a huge responsibility and everyone will be watching him, he needs to try and play to the level of players like Ronaldinho.
DeleteTeko Modise, the General, The navigator... he is always the best, he really deserves recognition. he is my all time favourite
ReplyDeleteWell Mxo,now he will have to prove that he is actually the best, by playing alongside the best in the world.
DeleteTEko Modise is a great player and him being given a once in a life time opportunity, to play in a once off match with some of the worlds legends in football is great I believe every South African player has the potential to be recognised globally, just look at Simpiwe Tsabalala Teko modise and Itumeleng Kune on http://www.citypress.co.za/Entertainment/News/Chit-chat-Teko-Modise-Simphiwe-Tshabalala-and-Itumeleng-Khune-20100612
ReplyDeleteWell done Teko Modise I hope he can maintain a great soccer standard
Well said Mpho. lets just hope that the rest of the world will be able to see the talent that South Africa has through Teko Mdise and perhaps attract scouters to come show interest in South African players.
DeleteWell done to Teko Modise. Its about time he got recognised.
ReplyDeleteIts a good break for Teko and he deserves it...
ReplyDeleteWOW! He will get to play with Ronaldinho! wow, it really does not get any better than that, I know that any other player currently in South Africa (maybe besides Benni Mcarthy who played against the likes of Drogba regularly while in the EPL) would relish such an opportunity
ReplyDeleteHe is greatly advantaged and I know for a fact that it would any players dream to just sit on the bench with Ronaldinho let alone play with him.
DeleteIf good things are actually meant for you, then you will always reach or recieve them in the mist of many life challenges.Remembering what Teko is been through with his wife according to the media.Other wise i can only say that this is a good achievement that anyone will never decline.Well done to Teko.
ReplyDeleteWell done indeed to him. This will be a life changing experience for him, but only if he performs to his full potential and make that he does his best.
DeleteTeko makes a name for himself once again, this does not only build on South Africa but on Teko Modise's image as a player, seeing South African players on an imternational level shows improvement in SAFA and good Corporate Citizenship between SAFA and FIFA.
ReplyDeleteIt is an improvement on the part of the technical side of South African football. Now it is up to South African players to prove themselves, that they are worthy of playing with legends.
